Free tiersForever-free vs trial vs one-shot demo — not the same.
Free AI Video Clippers Compared (2026)
“Free AI clipper” usually means one of three things: a forever-free monthly allowance, a time-boxed Pro trial, or a one-shot demo. Mixing them up is how people get surprised by watermarks and expired exports.
At-a-glance free map
| Tool | Type | What you get (public) | Gotchas |
|---|---|---|---|
| Opus Clip | Forever free + new-user Pro trial | ~60 processing credits/mo after trial; AI captions/reframe | Watermark; 9:16 only; little/no editing; exports expire ~3 days; Free terms lean personal/non-commercial |
| Vizard | Forever free | 60 credits/mo; editor access; 720p export | Watermark; projects ~3-day storage on free |
| Klap | Trial only | Create 1 video free, no card required (site copy) | No recurring free plan on pricing page |
| EasySlice | Trial only | 1 YouTube channel · 1 platform · 1 AI clip · no time limit stated | Not unlimited free automation; see EasySlice free |
| Cliphi | Free starter credits | Help center: start with free credits to try; pay when you render keepers | Confirm current grant in-app; plans are credit subscriptions |
| Videotto | Unclear recurring free | Pricing page lists Pro/Plus/Enterprise; third parties mention signup clips—verify live | Do not assume a forever-free tier |
| CapCut | Free editor | Manual timeline, auto captions, templates | You find the moments yourself; Pro features vary by region |
How to test free tiers without wasting a week
- Pick one long video you already published (not a brand-new exclusive).
- Run the same file through Opus free and Vizard free; export before the 3-day windows die.
- If you need auto-post, burn EasySlice’s single trial clip on a non-critical channel.
- Only then compare paid math on pricing.
Watermarked free exports are fine for learning. For client work or monetized channels, assume you need a paid plan or CapCut finishing.
